Expo – The Paresis Expo takes place at the Otjiwarongo showgrounds until the 5th (067 30 2231).
Horse riding – The annual Desert Horse Riding Marathon and Africa Championships take place in Walvis Bay (062 50 1952).

Music Festival – South African stars Splash, Dan Tshanda, Patricia Mjalisa, Peacock, Patric Riba, Matshikos and the Dalom Kids combined with local artists perform as follows:
• Tonight: Bennie’s Park, Ongwediva
• Fri, 4th: Open Market in Rundu
• Sat, 5th: Ngwezi Community Hall in Katima Mulilo. All shows start at 19:00 (081 424 3953).

Thu, 3rd

Music – Namibia’s Tchitula Brothers perform live at the Zenso Lounge (Gutenberg Platz) every Thursday at 19:00 (081 347 6830).
Theatre – The Afrikaans drama Siener in die Suburbs by PG du Plessis, in the National Theatre in Windhoek at 20:00. Another show takes place on the 4th (061 37 4404).*
Festival – Omaruru celebrates its centenary until the 6th, with various events on the programme including art exhibitions, competitions, food, quad-biking (064 57 0356) and a microlight competition (081 128 7230).

Fri, 4th
Festival – The Grootfontein Farmer’s Association hosts its centenary celebrations and the annual Harvest Festival on the farm Venus until the 5th (067 24 2094).
Exhibition – Like Art, Like What? Visual Artists Namibia hosts its annual exhibition at the Bank Windhoek Omba Gallery in the Namibia Craft Centre in Windhoek until the 22nd (061 24 4444).*

Fashion Show – In the main hall of the Windhoek showgrounds at 19:00, hosted by the Pambili Association, featuring local fashion and jewellery designs (061 30 7424).*
Biomarket – Organic vegetables, freshly baked bread and home-made products at 3 Uhland Street in Klein Windhoek from 09:00 to 12:00 every Saturday (061 23 9555).
Guided walk – At the National Botanical Gardens in Windhoek starting at 08:00 (061 202 2020).
Flea Market – A flea market takes place in the arcade between Pinocchio and the Arkaden Café in Swakopmund from 08:00 to 13:00 (081 227 2656).

Sun 6th 
Chill Out – Jam session with local artists TeQuila, Jewelz, Vanessa, Nancy Pigeon and others at the Zenso Lounge (Gutenberg Platz) in Windhoek every Sunday at 17:00 (081 347 6830).
Fu’Jazz – At the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek, featuring jazz and jazz fusion by the local All Stars Band and various vocalists at 19:00. Another Fu’Jazz takes place on the 20th at 19:00 (061 24 4671).*

Exhibition – Perspectives3, a photographic exhibition by local photographers Carmen Begley, Marita van Rooyen and Liezl Hoving at the Wild Arts Café of the FNCC until October 9th (061 38 7330).

Wed, 9th
Theatre – CLaSH, the Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments, celebrates its 20th anniversary with a performance by the internationally acclaimed deaf mime from Germany, Jomi, in the German Private School (DHPS) hall at 19:30. Another performance takes place on the 10th  (061 23 2704).*
Theatre – Joe Barber, a hilarious comedy from the Cape Flats featuring Oscar Petersen and David Isaacs in the National Theatre at 20:00 until the 12th (061 37 4404).
Show – The Keetmanshoop show takes place until the 11th (063 22 3162).

Festival – The annual /Ae//Gams Arts & Culture Festival takes place at various locations in Windhoek until the 13th. Watch local press for details (061 290 2093).

Performance – The Helfrich Trio, winners of a European Jazz Competition perform with the jazz pianist Anke Helfrich, at the Haus der Jugend in Swakopmund at 19:00 (064 40 4140).*

Fair – The annual Okakarara Trade Fair takes place until the 20th (067 31 7727).

Thu, 17th
Musical revue – Premiere of Friends 4eva, with Avalon Event and GRIPS Theatre Berlin, in the National Theatre at 19:00. Together they perform a musical based on Volker Ludwig’s acclaimed Linie 1, until the 19th (081 277 4212).*
Show - The Rehoboth show takes place until the 19th (062 52 2528).

Fri, 18th
Concert – Lecturers of the College of the Arts and South African organist  Colin Campbell host a recital in the NG Church Eros at 19:00 (061 37 4100).*
Performance – Swakopmund Musiziert in the Namib Primary School hall at 19:00, including a performance by the Mascato Youth Choir. A second show takes place on the 19th (064 40 4140).*

Exhibition – The Potter’s Association of Namibia hosts its 4th National Ceramics Biennale at the Bank Windhoek Omba Gallery in Windhoek until October 10th (081 298 7274).*
