Exhibition – The Arts Association Heritage Trust hosts an exhibition by various artists including Adolph Jentsch, Axel Eriksson, Francois De Necker and others at the National Art Gallery of Namibia (NAGN) until July 31st (061 23 1160).*
Exhibition – A mixed media exhibition by Namibian artist Ziggy Martin at NAGN until the 15th (061 23 1160).*

Wed, 3rd
Carnival – The College for the Arts hosts its annual carnival until the 6th.
Tonight at 19:00: Classical Concert
Thu, 4th at 19:00: Student Concert
Fri, 5th at 19:00: Lecturer’s Concert
Sat, 6th at 11:00: Parade from Theatre School (in Robert Mugabe Avenue) to the main campus. Entertainment starts at 12:00.

Exhibition – Waters of Hope and Rivers of Tears, a collection of black-and-white photographs by Brazilian photographer Christian Cravo at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) until the 20th (061 38 7330).

Fri, 5th
Concert – South African singers Elizma Theron and Nicholis Louw perform in Swakopmund (081 333 6330).
Launch – Zambian gospel singer Kelvin Kamalata launches his DVD Nikuluse in the National Theatre at 20:00 (061 37 4406).
Dance – Rock Around the Clock at the Walvis Bay Angling Club (081 124 5373).

Pageant – The 29th Miss Namibia Beauty Pageant takes place at the Windhoek Country Club at 20:00 (081 128 3388).
Biomarket – Organic vegetables, freshly baked bread and home-made products at 3 Uhland Street in Klein Windhoek from 09:00 to 12:00. Markets also take place on the 13th, 20th and 27th  (061 23 9555).
Guided walk – At the National Botanical Gardens in Windhoek starting at 08:00 (061 202 2020).
Flea Market – A flea market takes place in the arcade between Pinocchio and the Arkaden Café in Swakopmund from 08:00 to 13:00 (081 227 2656).
Beach Volleyball – This series kicks off at 07:30 at the DTS Sports Grounds in Olympia, Windhoek.
Motocross – An Enduro takes place at the Gobabis Motocross Club (081 127 2991).

Sun 7th
Chill Out – Jam session with local artists TeQuila, Jewelz, Vanessa, Nancy Pigeon and others at the Zenso Loungebar in Windhoek, every Sunday at 17:00 (081 347 6830).
Boxing – A boxing bonanza takes place at the Swakopmund Hotel (061 22 5940).

Mon, 8th
Exhibition – The Pambili Association hosts an exhibition of crafts created during the Potentials workshop at Studio 77 in Windhoek until the 14th (061 30 7424).*

Tue, 9th
Presentation – The impact of uranium mining on the archaeology of the Namib Desert by Dr John Kinahan at the Scientific Society in Windhoek at 19:00 (061 22 5372).
Exhibition – Art created by schoolchildren from all regions at the NAGN until the 30th (061 23 1160).*

Wed, 10th
Dance – French hip hop group The Latitudz perform in the Warehouse Theatre at 21:00. Hosted by the FNCC (061 38 7330).
Exhibition – Art i San, an exhibition of original beaded artworks made by the San from resettlement farms in the Omaheke Region, at the Bank Windhoek Omba Gallery until the 28th (061 24 2222).*

Thu, 11th
Theatre – Elementary, My Dear Dracula, a theatre production hosted by drama students of St Paul’s College in the National Theatre at 20:00 until the 12th (061 37 4406).*
Exhibition – Students of the Windhoek College of Education present their paintings, drawings and mixed media works at the NAGN until the 26th (061 23 1160).*
Spear of Culture – This monthly event features local choirs, cultural troupes, theatre and poetry groups at the Warehouse Theatre at 21:00 (061 24 4671).*
Bird Count – A winter bird count takes place in Walvis Bay until the 12th (081 260 7375).

Sat, 13th
Concert – South African heavy metal bands Warinsane, Azrail and Namibian bands Fallen Nemesis and Fading Reign perform at the Blitzkrieg Bunker Bar in Windhoek as from 19:00 (081 221 0981).

Sun, 14th
Fu’Jazz – At the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek, featuring jazz and jazz fusion by the local All Stars Band and various vocalists at 19:00. Another Fu’Jazz takes place on the 28th at 19:00 (061 24 4671).*

Wed, 16th
Exhibition – Namibian artist Kaleb Haipinge hosts an exhibition of mixed media works at Studio 77 until the 27th (061 25 2800).*

Fri, 19th
Excursion – For amateur stargazers to the Brandberg in celebration of the International Year of Astronomy, until the 22nd  (061 22 9142).

Sat, 20th
Music – World Music Day, hosted by the FNCC, includes concerts by local artists in Windhoek, Oshakati, Katima Mulilo, Rundu and Swakopmund. Events take place in the Multi Purpose Centres of the towns, except in Windhoek, where events take place at various venues (061 38 7330). Watch local press for details.
Boxing – Namibia’s former Commonwealth welterweight champion Paulus 'Ali' Nuumbembe takes on the South African WBA Pan-African welterweight champion Welcome Ntshingila at the Windhoek Country Club (061 22 5940).
Potjiekos – A ‘potjiekos’ cooking competition hosted by the Witbooisvlei Farmer’s Association takes place in Gochas (063 25 0101).

Fri, 26th
Concert – Cape Town band Akkedis performs live at the Vintage Bar in Windhoek as from 21:00 (081 129 4666).

Sat, 27th
Motocross – The Africa Motocross Championships take place at Gallina Park outside Windhoek until the 28th (081 127 2991).

Thu, 2nd
Exhibition – Globalisation – Connections – Time, an international project with 12 artists from six continents, with mixed media art at the FNCC until July 16th (061 38 7330).

Fri, 3rd
Concert – South African singer Arno Jordaan at the Atlantis Sport Club in Swakopmund at 19:30, in support of the Moria Private School (067 31 3051).

Sat, 5th
Festival – The 17th annual Biltong Festival of the Reformed Church takes place at Wanderers in Windhoek. Guest artists include South African singers Pieter Naude, Elizma Theron, Eden and various local singers (061 22 3567).

Fri, 10th
Dance theatre – Beautiful Me, a dance production with South African choreographer Gregory Maqome at 20:00 in the National Theatre. The dancers are accompanied by the violin, cello, sitar and percussion (061 061 38 7330).
