Concert – The Pretoria Afrikaans Boys High School Youth Orchestra performs in the Barth Hall in Omaruru at 19:00 (064 57 1386). *

Road Show – The College of the Arts Bank Windhoek Theatre School and Damaged Blocks Entertainment host a countrywide Namibian Deaf Theatre Road Show until the 22nd (081 227 3236 or 081 124 0541). Performances take place as follows:

7th: Oshakati
9th: Eenhana
11th: Rundu
14th: Katima Mulilo
16th: Tsumeb
17th: Otjiwarongo

22nd: Swakopmund.

Concert – South African singer Arno Jordaan at the Atlantis Sport Club in Swakopmund at 19:30, supporting the Moria Private School (067 31 3051).
Rock show – South African band aKing performs at the Alte Feste in Windhoek. Local band Pennylane opens at 19:00 (081 270 1007).
Dance Theatre – Reflections of Us, presented by the College of the Arts Dance Department in the National Theatre in Windhoek at 20:00, as well as on the 4th. A matinee show takes place at 14:30 on Saturday (061 37 4101). *
Concert – The Dresden Philharmonic Youth Choir from Germany performs at the Namib Primary School Hall in Swakopmund at 19:00. A second show takes place on the 4th (064 40 4140). Hosted by the Swakopmund Arts Association. *

Biomarket – Organic vegetables, freshly baked bread and home-made products at 3 Uhland Street in Klein Windhoek from 09:00 to 12:00. Markets also take place on the 11th, 18th and 25th (061 23 9555).
Guided walk – At the National Botanical Gardens in Windhoek starting at 08:00 (061 202 2020).
Flea market – In the arcade between Pinocchio and the Arkaden Café in Swakopmund from 08:00 to 13:00 (081 227 2656).
Festival – The 17th annual Biltong Festival of the Reformed Church takes place at Wanderers in Windhoek. Guest artists include South African singers Pieter Naude, Elizma Theron, Eden and various local singers (061 22 3567).
Dancing and drumming – By the Omaleshe Dance and Drumming Circle at the Nakale and Ekambo Combined School, 16 km from Oshakati. Performances take place every Saturday of the month (081 249 8857).

Sun 5th

Chill Out – Jam session with local artists TeQuila, Jewelz, Vanessa, Nancy Pigeon and others at the Zenso Loungebar in Windhoek, every Sunday at 17:00 (081 347 6830).
Music – Afrodisiac, with local performers at the Warehouse Theatre at 19:30 (061 24 4671).

Exhibition – A design exhibition on the emergence of an alternative product culture, hosted by the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations in Berlin at the NAGN until the 31st (061 23 1160). *

Thu, 9th

Spear of Culture – This monthly event features local choirs, cultural troupes, theatre and poetry groups at the Warehouse Theatre at 21:00 (061 24 4671). *

Fri, 10th
Dance theatre – Beautiful Me, a dance production by South African choreographer Gregory Maqome at 20:00 in the National Theatre. The dancers are accompanied by the violin, cello, sitar and percussion (061 38 7330).

Sat, 11th

Concert – South African singer Ray Dylan performs at the Sport Café in Windhoek at 19:00 (061 25 2950).
Motocross – The Namibian MX Championships take place at the Okahandja Motocross Club (081 122 5311).
Business Challenge Relay – The annual run/walk starts from the main campus of the University of Namibia at 13:00, while the cycling event takes place on the 12th at 09:00 (081 124 9471).

Sun, 12th
Fu’Jazz – At the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek, featuring jazz and jazz fusion by the local All Stars Band and various vocalists at 19:00. Another Fu’Jazz takes place on the 26th at 19:00 (061 24 4671).*

Comedy – Twak! of the Nation at the Warehouse Theatre at 21:00 until the 18th (061 24 4671).*

Exhibition – A mixed media exhibition by local artist Ricky Xhaxab at Studio 77 until the 30th (061 25 2800).*

Show – The annual Winter Wine & Décor Extravaganza takes place at the Windhoek Country Club until August 1st (061 24 8161).

Rally – The annual Big Five Rally takes place at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek until August 2nd (081 237 1550).
Music Festival – The College of the Arts hosts its annual music festival at the National Theatre at 20:00. A second performance takes place on August 1st (081 272 9922). *

Concert – Acoustic Africa, with music by Malian Habib Koté, Dobet Gnahoré from Ivory Coast and South African Vusi Mahlasela at the Zoo Park in Windhoek at 20:00, hosted by the FNCC (061 38 7330).
